eBay Social Commerce
At eBay I was fortunate enough to join an small start up team that was tasked with creating experiments that allowed eBay to learn how social engagement affects the user's discovery of products. We explored social signals such as Like, Want, Own, Share and discovered great insight on our user's shopping behaviors.
The home page will show a variety of public activity on the platform. Collections, photo tagging and polls.
Each collection card can flip over to view more details about each individual item in the collection.
The user can perform a "Share Blast" with the social platforms they selected.
Users can quickly add a comment to the collection.
The user can tag a photo by answering the question tag. Users can also use their hand held devices to take pictures of products they want their friends to identify.
A user can create collections from their saved items which are normally saved into lists. For example, a user is researching on the web for their bedroom renovation project. As the user browses through websites they save products that inspire. The list of products are then created into a collection and the user has the option to edit a collection by adding more items or start a new collection. They also have options to comment, like and share with your friends.
Start a collection by simply dragging and dropping images from their saved items on to the art board.
Users can also be creative with their collections by cropping, resizing and placing the images anywhere on the board.
